One characteristic that sets humans apart from other animals on this planet is our willingness to help others.

Robbeburg is run by volunteers - board members, committee members as well as playgroup leaders. Why do they do it?

This article highlights 4 important reasons:

Values: All our volunteers genuinely value community we provide, as we provide a safe space for their children and a place for parents to meet other parents.

Community Concerns: There is no other community center in Amsterdam which offers what we do. That is why the new board stepped up to stop Robbeburg from shutting down.

Self Esteem Enhancements: Being a new parent, having our space provides a place to surround yourself with people experiencing the same situation - expat parent of young children.

Personal Development: Being a parent is already a massive development in its own! But our board members have had to take on a lot of new learnings, like running a non profit! Equally our committee members are now experience events producers!

We are always looking for more people to join our board and committees. Even if you have just 1 hour to spare a week, or two hours in a month - every contribution really helps us move forward!
